I’ve got beef with Linktree, if you’re using it: You might want to sit down for this

So most business use LinkTree as an easy-to-use tool to showcase your most important info via your link in bio. It’s relatively customisable even on the free plan and you can directly collect payments.

Okay… Here’s my issue

If your goal of SEO is to make Google (ect) love your website so much that they reward it with lots of valuable organic traffic. When using Linktree as a link in bio tool, you’re actually helping improve their SEO, NOT YOURS.

Not only that, it’s got the bare minimum for customisation options (unless you pay for it), it hinders the ability of Google seeing the traffic coming from your social media account and it decreases the amount of time that Google thinks your visitors are on your website (because it thinks they are on Linktree).

Here’s what you can do instead

Create a mobile-specific page on your website and link it to your bio. Utilise your branding and asset library in a way that Linktree can’t do, to highlight important links on your website. Keep it relevant, don’t overwhelm your visitors with decision fatigue. Making for a more on-brand experience from socials to site.
